Spatial differentiation characteristics of continuous and fragmented cultivated land:A case study of Beijing

Abstract
Current research on the spatial status of arable land mainly focuses on continuity or landscape fragmentation.This paper combined the characteristics of concentrated continuity and fragmentation of cultivated land,reflecting these features in spatial distribution.The paper used the cultivated land data of Beijing from 2015,2017,2018,2019,2020,2021,and 2022,calculating using the mean nearest neighbor index and fragmentation index to analyze the trend of continuity and the degree of spatial dispersion of farmland.Furthermore,spatial autocorrelation analysis was applied to comprehensively explore the spatial differentiation characteristics of cultivated land.The results show that,overall,from 2015 to 2022,the spatial continuity of cultivated land in Beijing has shown an upward trend,while the degree of fragmentation of patches has also increased.A turning point and fluctuation occurred in 2019,with local spatial differentiation features observed.This paper takes Beijing's cultivated vegetation-covered surface as an example,comprehensively assessing the spatial differentiation characteristics of continuity and fragmentation,scientifically reflecting the spatial layout of farmland,and providing practical significance for the implementation of farmland protection efforts.关键词
