Mechanisms of rock-and ore-controlling structures and their implications for exploration in the Dayishan tin-polymetallic orefield,Southern Hunan

Abstract
The Dayishan tin-polymetallic orefield is a typical magmatic-hydrothermal polymetallic orefield formed in the superimposed tectonic background of the Qinzhou-Hangzhou and Nanling metallogenic belts.This orefield is characterized by the development of multistage granite and multidirectional tin-bearing greisen veins.However,research on structural systems that directly determine the positioning of the plutons and orebodies in this orefield is sparse,which restricts our understanding of the metallogenic regularity therein and future prospecting directions.Addressing the core issue of the unclear rock-and ore-controlling structural system,based on field structure and regional tectonic analysis,a detailed study of the mechanisms of rock-and ore-controlling structures in the Dayishan orefield is conducted,and suggestions for further exploration are proposed in this work.The main insights obtained are as follows:(1)The emplacement of the Dayishan granitic pluton is jointly controlled by the Shaoyang-Chenzhou fault,with an NW tend and NE dip,and the Yangmingshan-Tashan fault,with an E-W trend and S dip.Segmental movement of the Shaoyang-Chenzhou fault during the Early Yanshanian determined the spatial positioning of the Dayishan pluton.Thrusting motion of the Yangmingshan-Tashan fault during the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic displaced the Shaoyang-Chenzhou fault,resulting in a left-slip deflection of the latter in the horizontal plane,which created an asymmetric spindle-shaped morphology of the Dayishan pluton.(2)The tin-bearing joints and fractures exhibit tensile or tensile-shear properties.The upward encroachment and lateral flow of late-stage highly differentiated granitic magma along preexisting faults in the Caledonian structural layer controlled the formation of the NNE-NE-oriented ore-bearing structures to the north of Taizishang.At the same time,to the south of Taizishang,the ascent and lateral migration of magma along the Yangmingshan-Tashan fault dominated the formation of the E-W trending fractures and the positioning of the orebodies.(3)Coupling of tectonics and magmatism created two groups of ore-bearing structures:steep-dipping,fan-shaped and shallow-dipping,ring-shaped cracks.Based on the theory of"absent prospecting,"there is potential to explore other groups of ore veins that are symmetrical to the known unidirectional dipped ones in the Dayishan orefield.Additionally,the shallow-dipping structures also deserve attention in future exploration.关键词
