Abstract
In recent years,defects and failures of composite insulators have occurred frequently,among which the most important problem is the core bar crisp break caused by abnormal heating of composite in-sulator.In order to further study the relationship between string type,temperature rise and internal de-fects of insulators,the author takes 57 abnormal heating composite insulators of two 500 kV overhead lines in Central China as the research objects,and carries out 11 comprehensive tests including laboratory infrared detection,DR Detection and profile inspection.The results show that the composite insulators of this batch have serious defects of poor adhesion between the sheath and the core rod,which is the root cause of abnormal heating of insulators.At the same time,compact V-string insulators are subjected to forces and electric field strengths that result in a higher defect rate compared to the I-string.By compa-ring and analyzing the defects detected in a series of tests and the location of the defects,it is verified that infrared temperature measurement can more accurately detect the internal defects of composite insula-tors,and it is proposed that the temperature rise of 5 K is used as the criterion for serious defects of com-posite insulators of the Hunan Power Grid.However,DR Detection has high precision in detecting the defects of mandrel brittle and poor bonding,and can be considered as an auxiliary means of infrared tem-perature detection.关键词
