Abstract

The accurate calculation and quantitative analysis of the grounding characteristics of the current grounding electrode is the basic work for the optimal design of DC grounding electrode,and it is also the important foundation to ensure the safe and stable operation of DC transmission system under normal and fault conditions.Based on the analysis of the physical process of DC grounding electrode and the basic theory of electromagnetic field,the finite element numerical model of DC grounding performance is estab-lished;Among them,there is a difference of more than 104 orders of magnitude between the DC groun-ding electrode section size and the grounding electrode length and the diffuser space size,in order to solve the problem of computational singularity and excessive computation caused by the huge size differ-ence,a two-dimensional thin shell with virtual thickness is used to replace the three-dimensional grounding conductor in the model,and the space coordinate transformation is introduced to the infinite space of the diffuser.Based on this model,the diffused electric field of a single vertical DC grounding pole is calculated,and the influences of grounding pole length,coke radius,soil parameters and other factors on potential distribution,grounding resistance,overflow density,step voltage and other parameters are quantitatively analyzed.The results show that when the coke radius exceeds 0.7 m,the influence of increasing coke radius on step voltage decreases;the thickness of the upper soil has obvious influence on the overflow density;the change of subsoil resistivity has obvious influence on ground resistance and step volt-age.The results can provide reference for the design and optimization of the vertical grounding electrode.
