Abstract
The upgrade of power communication backbone transmission network to 100 G optical transmission network(OTN)puts forward higher requirements on the power budget and signal-to-noise ratio of the network,which brings challenges to the design of ultra-long span transmission system.This paper introduces a new generation large effective area,ultra-low loss G.654.E fiber,uses it to manufacture the optical fiber composite overhead ground wire(OPGW).The key performance of the optical cable is tested,and the average attenuation of the OPGW is less than 0.150 dB/km.For ultra-long span 100 G OTN systems,it significantly reduces signal power loss and increases the optical signal noise ratio(OSNR)margin,thereby supporting longer transmission distances and reducing the risk of system error caused by state of polarization(SOP)fluctuations in OPGW optical cables when struck by lightning.关键词
