Soil bacterial beta diversity and its environmental interpretation in pure and mixed stands of Larix principis-rupprechtii

Abstract
Larix principis-rupprechtii is the pioneer tree species for afforestation in the east-central Loess Plateau,China.Revealing the patterns of soil bacterial beta diversity in the stands of this species and its interpretation can provide theoretical support for biodiversity conservation and ecological management in mountain ecosystems.Illumina high-throughput sequencing was employed to investigate the bacterial beta diversity in surface(0-10 cm)and sub-surface(10-20 cm)soil layers of different stand types across six altitudinal gradients(1 720,1 850,1 950,2 050,2 150,and 2 250 m)in L.principis-rupprechtii forests in Lüliang Mountains.The results showed that stand types had stronger effect on soil bacterial beta diversity than altitude and soil depth.Soil bacterial beta diversity was higher in pure stands than in mixed stands(L.principis-rupprechtii-Betula platyphylla).Soil factors(alkaline-hydrolyzable nitrogen and total nitrogen)were the key factors influencing the soil bacterial beta diversity in pure stands,with the positive total and direct effect values both of 0.378,followed by soil layer depth.Soil factors(bulk density and total phosphorus)were the major factors influencing the soil bacterial beta diversity in mixed stands,followed by thickness of undecomposed litter layer,with total effect values of-0.890 and 0.353,respectively.关键词
