Abstract

To address the issues of fine tailings particle size,poor fluidity of backfill slurry,and low strength in cemented tailings backfill for Carlin-type gold mines,a three-factor five-level orthogonal experiment was conducted to investigate the filling proportioning scheme using neutralization slag-waste rock-cement.Range analysis and regression analysis were employed to study the effects of slurry concentration,waste rock content,and cement-sand ratio on backfill strength and fluidity.The results indicate that the slump of backfill slurry decreases with increasing slurry concentration.At low concentrations,the slump shows negligible variation with waste rock content,but increases from 13.9 cm to 27.2 cm when the concentration reaches 62%.Under identical mass concentrations,the uniaxial compressive strength of backfill decreases with reduced cement-sand ratios,while increasing slurry concentration enhances strength at fixed cement-sand ratios.Waste rock content exhibits minimal influence on backfill strength.The optimal proportioning for open-stope subsequent filling was determined as 62%concentration,40%waste rock content,and a 1:6 cement-sand ratio.This configuration achieves a slurry slump of 27.98 cm and 28-day strength of 0.93 MPa,satisfying both fluidity and strength requirements for sublevel open-stope subsequent filling mining methods.
