Abstract

The application of ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectroscopy in the online determination of rare earth solutions has been investigated,which is significant for improving the efficiency and utilization of rare earth resources.UV-Vis spectroscopy,based on the principle of electronic transitions in molecules,is suitable for studying molecular structures,chemical bonds,and electronic states.Utilizing the UV-Vis wavelength range(180 nm~1100 nm),the technique can rapidly and non-destructively analyze the components of rare earth solutions.In this study,it was successfully applied in the fields of rare earth mining and separation,with a determination limit as low as 0.03 mol/L for some rare earth ions.Significant linear relationships(R2>0.99)were observed between solution concentration and absorbance in the range of 0.03 mol/L~2.5 mol/L.For high-concentration rare earth solutions,the determination results were highly consistent with those obtained by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy(ICP-OES),with an average error of<3%.
