The Influence of Academic Emotions on College Students'Adaptive Expertise:the Mediating Role of Mentalizing Emotions

Abstract
This study attempts to explore the relationship between college students'academic emotions and adaptive expertise.In Sub-study 1,questionnaires were distributed to 1272 students.In Sub-study 2,the paths for students to enhance their mentalizing emotions were explored.The results show that:among college students,positive academic emotions are significantly and positively correlated with emotion processing,emotion recognition,autobiographical memory,and adaptive expertise;negative activity-oriented emotions are significantly and negatively correlated with emotion processing,emotion recognition,autobiographical memory,and adaptive expertise,and are significantly and positively correlated with emotion expression;negative outcome-oriented emotions are significantly and negatively correlated with emotion recognition,autobiographical memory,and adaptive expertise,and are significantly and positively correlated with emotion expression;college students'academic emotions can predict their adaptive expertise;emotion recognition and autobiographical memory in mentalizing emotions play a mediating role between college students'academic emotions and adaptive expertise,and emotion expression plays a mediating role between negative outcome-orientation emotions and adaptive expertise.The construction of a mentalizing classroom can help students develop their mentalizing emotional abilities.关键词
