Preparation of Dodecyl Stearate Phase Change Microcapsules by Solvent Evaporation Method and Its Properties

Abstract
Microencapsulated phase change materials with dodecyl stearate(DS)as the core were prepared via solvent evaporation.The effects of encapsulation parameters on the properties of microcapsules were studied,including the kinds of polymer shell material and the mass ratio of core material to shell material.The surface morphology,chemical composition,phase transition characteristics,and thermal stability of microcapsules were characterized by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),and thermogravimetric analyzer(TG).The experimental results showed that when polysulfone(PSF)was used as the shell material and the core-shell ratio was 2∶1,the overall performance of the microcapsules was the best.The melting enthalpy and encapsulation efficiency were 118.80 J/g and 61.52%,respectively.When the heat loss weight was 5%,the temperature was as high as 261℃.After 100 heating-cooling cycles,the melting enthalpy of the phase change microcapsule was maintained by over 95%.关键词
