Textural Analysis of an Ancient Recorded Traditional Chinese Medicine Huangzhi

Abstract
The study aims to provide references for the exploration and application of a traditional Chinese medicine"Zhi"through conducting herbal researches on Huangzhi,tracing its medication history and clarifying its origin.Historical herbal works and modern research literatures relating to the"Zhi"traditional Chinese medicine were comprehensively reviewed.Field investigation,collection and identification of Huangzhi in Songshan mountain area of Henan province,China,were also carried out.Our results indicate that the Huangzhi recorded in ancient Chinese herbal medicine should be the fruiting body of Phillinus gilvus(Schw.Fr.)Pat because the textural analysis and the field investigations reveal a consistence of its characters in terms of origin,morphology,medicinal properties and efficacy.This paper thus provides a basis of herb researches for the future clinical application and development of Huangzhi under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine theory.关键词
