Global World Cultural Heritage Sites:Comparative Analysis of Research Hotspots and Implications

Abstract
Since the implementation of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 1972,the field of heritage protection has undergone nearly five decades of practical advancement.The study of global cultural heritage,both at the national and international levels,is an area of ongoing evolution.Examining the attributes and key areas of focus within this research development holds considerable importance for advancing the preservation of heritage and the transmission of culture.This study conducted a visual analysis of 1 722 research articles pertaining to World Heritage Sites,utilizing bibliometric analysis software,drawing on data from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and the Web of Science(WOS)core databases.The findings suggest that both domestic and international research has evolved through three distinct developmental phases,with a focus on key areas including heritage site governance,resource development,and heritage protection.Comparative analyses demonstrate that these research focal points are undergoing ongoing refinement,with inquiries into heritage protection and management being approached from various perspectives.Furthermore,there is a notable disparity between the initial domestic focus on natural characteristics and the broader array of protection strategies observed in international contexts.In the future,it is imperative for the nation to intensify its emphasis on the natural environment adjacent to heritage sites and to investigate innovative strategies for the protection of such heritage.Concurrently,both domestic and international research initiatives should be harmonized with national policy advancements,while consistently refining the research framework pertaining to World Cultural Heritage sites.关键词
