Abstract
In the era of stock development,the spatial renovation design of squares in old residential communities is a crucial part of urban renewal.This study takes Xinhuali Community Square in Xicheng District,Beijing,as its research object and examines the challenges of the existing spatial layout.Using the Public Space and Public Life(PSPL)Survey,and combining qualitative and quantitative approaches,this study focuses on three key elements:users,activities,and spaces.It explores the actual needs of space users and proposes adaptive,targeted,and refined design strategies.The aim is to provide a practical design foundation for the renovation of public square spaces in old residential communities across China.关键词
