Research on the Factor Identification and Occurrence Paths of Knowledge-Hiding Behaviors among Members of University Research Teams

Abstract
Identifying the influencing factors for knowledge-hiding behaviors among research team members and exploring their occurrence paths can effectively achieve knowledge sharing and inherit-ance,and improve the efficiency of team knowledge creation.Based on 30 pieces of interview data from members of university research teams,this paper identifies the influencing factors for their knowledge-hiding behaviors by adopting grounded theory.Then,it explores the configuration paths of such behav-iors according to 202 pieces of valid survey data with a combination of Necessary Condition Analysis and Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis.The findings are as follows.First,those knowledge-hiding behaviors among members of university research teams are jointly caused by physical factors such as knowledge characteristics,research life cycle,and research stress,and reason factors like subjective norms and demand matching as well as human-related factors including perceived severity,response efficiency,and social learning.Second,research stress is a necessary condition for the occurrence of knowledge-hiding behaviors.Third,there are three typical configuration paths,namely,risk-driven path under high stress,interest-oriented environment-driven path,and risk benefit composite path under high stress.This study expands the analytical paradigm of the mechanism of the occurrence of knowledge-hiding behaviors,providing reference for managers to avoid the occurrence of such behav-iors in scientific research teams.关键词
