Studies on the protein requirement of Tibetan cashmere goats in late pregnancy

Abstract
The experiment aimed to explore the protein requirements of Tibetan cashmere goats in the late stage of pregnancy,providing references for formulating the feeding standards for Tibetan cashmere goats.Sixteen healthy pregnant ewes at 90 days of gestation with a body weight of(30.53±0.54)kg were selected and randomly divided into four groups,each with four replicates,and each goat as one replicate.The energy levels of the experimental diets in each group were consistent,while the protein levels were 7.79%(Group Ⅰ),9.50%(Group Ⅱ),10.93%(Group Ⅲ),and 12.35%(Group Ⅳ),respectively.The pre-test period lasted for 7 days,and the formal experimental period was 45 days.The results showed that the apparent protein digestibility of the ewes in Groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,and Ⅳ were 53.47%,54.71%,56.62%,and 57.15%,respectively,but there was no significant difference among the groups(P>0.05).The protein deposition rate and average daily weight gain of the ewes in Group Ⅳ were significantly higher than those of the other groups(P<0.05).The body protein content of pregnant ewes in Groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ was significantly higher than that in Groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ(P<0.05).The dietary protein level had a minimal impact on the serum biochemical indicators of cashmere goats in the late stage of pregnancy.During the experimental period,the differences in the content of serum total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),urea(UREA),blood glucose(GLU),and the activity of aspartate in dietary protein level can enhance the apparent protein digestibility,the content of deposited protein,and the birth weight of lambs in ewes.关键词
