Abstract

In order to address the issues of a complex structure,high power consumption,and challenging assembly and maintenance of the current pneumatic suction seed discharger in the vegetable seedling sowing line,a straw roller type eggplant seed metering device had been developed.This device generated negative pressure to adsorb the seeds through its own structural characteristics.Firstly,the suction and seed-carrying processes were analyzed to establish a reference base for the subsequent structural design of the seed-metering device.Subsequently,the key components of the seed me-tering device(air chamber and holes of roller)were designed in accordance with the agronomical requirements of egg-plant seedling sowing and the suction and seed-carrying process.Lastly,the test bench was established to evaluate the seed metering device's seeding performance of eggplant seeds.The results indicated that the suction tube roller eggplant seed metering device had sowing qualification rate of 90.56%,re-suction rate of 4.17%,leakage rate of 5.28%,and a sowing effect that was satisfactory,which served as a reference for the structural design of an air-suction seed metering device.
