Abstract

To explore the community structure of phytoplankton and the aquatic ecological conditions of the Fenshui River Basin,investigations of phytoplankton were carried out in autumn of 2021 at 35 monitoring sites in the Fenshui River Basin,and the aquatic ecological status was evaluated based on the specific composition,dominant species,and the abundance and biodiversity of phytoplankton in the Fenshui River Basin.The results showed that a total of 112 species from 6 phyla were detected in the Fenshui River Basin,and Bacillariophyta,Chlorophyta,and Cyanophyta were the dominant phytoplankton phyla.The abundance and biomass of phytoplankton in the whole basin ranged from 7.65 × 104 to 772.65 × 104 cells/L,and from 0.0867 to 22.6874 mg/L,respectively.Both biomass and abundance showed a trend of main stream of the Fenshui River Basin>tributaries of the Fenshui River Basin>the upstream.The evaluation based on Shannon-Wiener diversity index showed that the overall condition of the phytoplankton in the tributaries of the Fenshui River Basin was good,indicating light pollution or no pollution,while the main stream and upstream of the Fenshui River Basin were mostly in a moderate pollution state.The Pielou evenness index indicated that most of the Fenshui River Basin was in a state of light pollution or cleanliness.
