Abstract

To improve the release technology of Dastarcus helophoroides in field and biocontrol effect,parasitism rate and paralysis time of D.helophoroides on host were determined under different host-searching distances,inoculation proportions and interspecific interference in laboratory.The results showed that parasitism rates were no significant differences under different host-searching distances and inoculation proportions,but there was significantly lower under Sclerodermus alternatusi interference than no interference.Under interference,the parasitism rate was the lowest at the ratio of D.helophoroides to Thyestilla gebleri,2:1 or 8:1,with only 10%.The paralysis time of D.helophoroides on host was generally shortened with the increase of inoculation proportion,and paralysis time was 1 d when host-searching distance was zero;while the longest paralysis time was 2.5 d under S.alternatusi interference with 2:1 of D.helophoroides to T.gebleri.It was concluded that host-searching distance and inoculation proportion had no significant effect on parasitism of D.helophoroides,while interspecific interference could significantly reduce the parasitism rate.These findings could provide theoretical supports for management pests applying D.helophoroides in forest.
