Abstract

This paper proposes a river section construction method based on DEM and LWLR to solve the problem of unstable model operation and improve the simulation effect of hydraulic models,in response to the problems of interruption and poor simulation effect in mountain river hydrodynamic simulation based on DEM data.This method first extracts the lowest points of each section from DEM,and for non unique lowest points,adjacent section lowest points are interpolated.Subsequently,the local weighted linear regression algorithm is used to smooth the riverbed elevation of the river section,thereby constructing a more accurate river cross-section.Apply this method to the hydrodynamic simulation from Zhimen to Batang in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River,and calibrate and validate the model using water level and flow data from Gangtuo Station.The research results indicate that,(a)compared with directly extracting river cross-sections from DEM,this method ensures the stable operation of hydrodynamic models,saves modeling and model running time,and is conducive to the modeling and analysis of large-scale river networks;and(b)the water level certainty coefficient,flow certainty coefficient,and peak occurrence time are increased by 1.11%,0.89%,and 1.2 hours,respectively,which verified the practicality of this method and its application value in hydrodynamic calculations in areas with scarce terrain data.
