Abstract

Reservoir flood control operation is vital for mitigating flood risks and ensuring upstream and downstream safety.In this paper,a multi-scenario flood control operation model is constructed based on the comprehensive consideration of downstream flood control safety,reservoir safety and overall regional flood control safety,and the optimization solution is realized by the chaotic adaptive genetic-simulated annealing algorithm(CAGA-SA)coupled with chaotic optimization algorithm(CA),genetic algorithm(GA)and simulated annealing algorithm(SA).The 2016 flood at Foziling Reservoir serves as a case study.The results indicate that,(a)the improved algorithm enhances flood control,raises the peak shaving rate by 10.61%,boosts computational efficiency by 46.77%,and provides smoother operations;(b)with downstream and reservoir safety weighting coefficients of 0.4 and 0.6,respectively,Foziling Reservoir achieves the highest integrated flood control safety;and(c)the strategy can be adjusted via weighting coefficients to adapt to evolving flood conditions.
