摘要

Abstract

In order to reveal the impact breaking shell mechanism of walnuts at the microscopic level,numerical simulation of the breakage process of walnut simplified into spherical shell under impact was carried out by means of finite element coupled discrete element method combined with cohesive element model.Damage ratio and size ratio of largest fragment were introduced to quantitatively describe the effects of impact velocity and impact angle on the degree of spherical shell breakage.The results showed that with the increase of impact velocity,the breakage modes of spherical shell can be classified into four types according to their degree of breakage:unbroken,local breakage,fragmentation and completely disintegration.In addition,the change of impact angle has no significant effect on the damage ratio,while the size ratio of largest fragment is significantly affected by the impact angle within a certain range of impact velocity.As the impact angle and the impact velocity gradually increase,the size ratio of largest fragment gradually changes from the significant linear decrease to the slow linear decrease.The simulation results provide a reference for the study on tree nut shelling problems,and at the same time provide guidance for innovation of impact shelling equipment and its key components.
