ESPRIT-Based Channel Estimation Scheme for Movable Antenna Systems

Abstract
Movable antenna(MA)technology presents a novel paradigm for enhancing wireless communication system performance.To address the channel estimation challenges in MA enabled systems,this paper proposes an Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques(ESPRIT)-based channel estimation method.Different from conventional synchronous pilot transmission schemes with fixed antenna positions,the proposed scheme first optimizes the transmission frame structure and pilot allocation strategy according to the movable region of the antenna array.Subsequently,a multi-frame displacement sampling mechanism is employed to achieve uplink pilot reception under dynamic antenna positioning during each transmission frame.By constructing a high-dimensional virtual array model from the received signals,the azimuth angle estimation is accomplished through the ESPRIT algorithm,followed by channel gain estimation using the least squares(LS)method,ultimately realizing accurate channel reconstruction.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves significantly lower channel estimation error compared to other benchmark schemes.关键词
