Abstract

The existing microwave technology of YL43 filter rod molding unit is unable to detect and identify the composite filter rod with aluminum foil roll paper during the heating cigarette production.A visual detection and removal system of composite filter rod is designed based on the principle of visual imaging detection.The image gray difference of different elements of the composite filter rod was detected by visual imaging,and the characteristics of different elements of the composite filter rod were distinguished.The system enables online detection and removal of defective rods with issues such as excessive splicing gaps,phase offset,missing units,and misaligned units during the forming process of composite filter rods.Testing was conducted on a binary composite filter rod produced by Hubei China Tobacco Wuhan Cigarette Factory,consisting of a conventional cellulose acetate unit wrapped in ordinary paper and a smoking segment unit wrapped in aluminum foil paper.The results showed that unqualified composite filter rods with splicing gap≥0.5mm,phase offset≥1mm,missing or misaligned units could be removed.The defect detection accuracy reached 0.1mm,the detection accuracy was≥99.5%(α=0.005),and the rejection accuracy was 100%.
