Abstract

[Objective]This study aims to address the quality issue of wrinkles on the cigarette surface caused by insufficient support from the cigarette carrying slot on the transfer drum in the ZJ118 cigarette making and assembling machine during the production of slim cigarettes.[Methods]A new multi-point surface-supported cigarette carrying slot for the transfer drum was designed using the 3D modeling capabilities of SOLIDWORKS,replacing the original single-point supported slot.COMSOL Multiphysics was used to simulate and analyze the stress distribution on the cigarette in the new slot.The actual performance of the new multi-point surface-supported slot was then verified in production.[Results]The results of simulation analysis showed that the stress distribution and the smoothness of the cigarette surface at high speeds were better with the new multi-point surface-supported slot compared to the original single-point supported slot.The stress distribution on the cigarette in the new slot was more even,and the negative pressure airflow was also more uniformly distributed,effectively ensuring the stability of the cigarette's external quality.The actual application results showed that the surface wrinkle defect rate caused by the cigarette carrying slot decreased from 18.40 defects per shift to 0 when using the new slot.[Conclusion]The new multi-point surface-supported cigarette carrying slot structure offers better support,more even stress distribution,and more stable suction,effectively improving cigarette surface quality.It significantly reduces cigarette surface wrinkle incidents and the frequency of equipment downtime for repairs,as well as lowering material consumption during cigarette production.
