Abstract

Based on life cycle assessment(LCA)and life cycle cost assessment(LCCA)methodology,the traditional HFC refrigerants R134a and low-GWP refrigerants of R1234yf,R744 and R290 have been analyzed.LCA results show that the total carbon emissions of China's automotive air conditioning industry in 2022 is about 162 million tons of CO2 equivalent.The national average carbon emissions of various refrigerant heat pump systems are ranked from low to high as R290,R1234yf,R744,and R134a.The LCCA results show that the net present value of the life cycle cost for R134a-based new energy vehicle(NEV)heat pump systems is approximately 11 424 yuan.Among the three eco-friendly refrigerants,the system life cycle cost of R290 is significantly lower than that of R134a under national average conditions.
