Analysis of Volatile Oil Components of Tibetan Medicine Rhododendron Anthopogonoides Maxim.Fermented Product and Their Antibacterial Activity

Abstract
Objective:This study aimed to identify the volatile oil components of the Rhododendron anthopogonoides Maxim.(RAM)fermented product and evaluate their antibacterial activity,providing a theoretical basis for the comprehensive utilization of the RAM fermented product resources.Methods:RAM was fermented according to the processing method recorded in an ancient Tibetan book,Selected Practices of Tibetan Medicine Preparation.Volatile oils were extracted using the supercritical carbon dioxide(CO2)method,and its components were separated using the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)method.The antibacterial activity was assessed using the filter paper method.Results:A total of 63 chemical components were identified from the volatile oils of the RAM fermented product,mainly containing norethynodrel(2.95%),trimethylsilyl palmitate(2.82%),5-ethyl-2-methyl-octane(2.08%),2,6,11-trimethyldodecane(1.84%),3,7-dimethyldecane(1.69%),and other components.The RAM fermented product shows varying antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli,Micrococcus luteus,Staphylococcus aureus,Shigella dysenteriae,Salmonella paratyphi B,Bacillus pumilus,etc.Conclusion:RAM is rich in volatile oil components.Based on the analysis of volatile oil components of its fermented product and antibacterial tests,the basis of its effect in treating skin diseases,septic arthritis,and other diseases is clarified,providing support for the development and application of RAM fermented product.关键词
