Abstract

In an effort to treat and utilize the waste incineration ash,protect the environment,and save resources,waste incineration ash was used as fine aggregate of asphalt mixture instead of machine-made sand,meanwhile,the mechanical property,high temperature stability,low temperature crack resistance,fatigue life and heavy metal content of asphalt mixture were analyzed.The research results indicated that,for the modified asphalt mixture,the mechanical properties of the waste incineration ash in the range of 0~70%was higher than that of the ordinary SBS asphalt mixture,the high temperature stability of the waste incineration ash in the range of 0~60%and the low temperature crack resistance of the waste incineration ash in the range of 0~80%had the same results.With the increase of incineration ash replacement,the fatigue life and initial bending stiffness modulus both decreased,meanwhile the bending stiffness modulus decreased in the state of fluctuation;and the greater amount of substitution,the more obvious downward trend and fluctuation degree.The asphalt in the asphalt mixture still had excellent physical encapsulation effect on the waste incineration ash after aged,the outward diffusion of heavy metals was restricted,and the impact on the environment was within the safe range.According to the test results,under the condition of ensuring the road performance,the replacement amount of waste incineration ash should be not exceed 60%in aggregates below 5 mm.
