Abstract

This article employs a combination of theoretical calculations and material performance testing to systematically evaluate the reflection performance of cyclotron radiation(~100 GHz frequency microwaves)for two types of first-wall materials tungsten alloys and Carbon-Carbon(C/C)composite materials.The study results indicate that both first-wall materials exhibit a reflection rate exceeding 95%at 100 GHz microwave frequency,which meets the current design requirements for the first wall of hydrogen-boron fusion devices.The penetration depth of 100 GHz microwaves for both first-wall materials is only in the micrometer range,significantly smaller than the engineering design thickness(5-10 mm),demonstrating effective microwave shielding.Changes in temperature have a minimal impact on the reflection rate of both materials,with a change of less than 0.5%from 20℃to 500℃.As the microwave frequency increases from 65 GHz to 255 GHz,the reflection rate of both first-wall materials decreases,but the variation is limited(a reduction of about 0.17%for tungsten alloys and about 2.51%for C/C composite).This research provides important references for the design of first-wall materials in hydrogen-boron fusion devices.
