Abstract

Based on the EXL-50U device,ENN independently designed a new generation of spherical tokamak plasma experimental device called EHL-2.Compared to its predecessor,the EHL-2 features upgraded parameters such as heating power,plasma current,and confinement time.It is necessary to evaluate the radiation dose on the surface of the EHL-2 device.This paper utilizes the design parameters of EHL-2 and constructs a 3D model of the main structure of the device.The Monte Carlo method is employed to analyze the impact of bremsstrahlung radiation on the surface radiation dose of the device,and the radiation doses for occupational workers and the general public are calculated.The research results indicate that bremsstrahlung radiation with an average energy of 10 keV has a minimal effect on the radiation distribution on the device surface,while runaway electrons play a dominant role in the radiation dose on the device surface.During abnormal discharges such as plasma disruptions,the radiation dose received by personnel at 1 meter away from the device surface is 4.81 mSv.Calculations show that the annual cumulative radiation dose from bremsstrahlung radiation of EHL-2 for both occupational workers and the general public is below the national standard requirements.
