Abstract
Fusion energy,characterized by its abundant resources,environmental friendliness,and inher-ent safety,is regarded as a crucial strategic direction for global energy transition.This paper conducts a com-prehensive review of the trends in the planning and development of fusion energy in various countries,and the challenges faced by fusion technology.As fusion energy advances toward commercialization,the rapid evolution of fusion technologies poses multifaceted challenges to China's nuclear and radiation safety regulatory framework by considering the current development status of fusion energy in China.Against the backdrop of intensifying global competition in fusion technology,this study emphasizes the imperative of enhancing regulatory capacity building to align with the demands of commercial fusion applications.Key recommendations include strengthening top-level regulatory design,resolving critical technical bottlenecks in oversight,cultivating specialized regulatory expertise,and fostering public engagement.These measures aim to ensure that fusion energy development adheres to principles of safety,efficiency,and environmental sustainability,thereby contributing to the sustainable development of human society.关键词
