Abstract

Offshore drilling is an important means for marine resource,energy and marine engineering construction.However,compared with onshore drilling,the working conditions of offshore drilling are more complex with the most notable challenges being the influence of sea waves and limited workspace,which makes the traditional manual wellhead operation more dangerous.Therefore,it is particularly urgent to replace manual labor with automation for the pipe string unscrewing operation with high frequency,heavy load and poor safety.Based on the HDG800 offshore drilling machine developed by the project team,the authors propose a remote automatic unscrew device mainly using power tongs for marine engineering.This device can achieve the automation of pipe string loading and unloading operation.Through remote control of the driller,it enables functions such as pipe recognition,automatic positioning,remote gear shifting,automatic unscrewing and tong alignment,meets the requirements of pipe loading and unloading operation under±1.5 m wave heave compensation condition,therefore reduces the risk of manual unscrew operation in limited workspace under wave condition,and improves the efficiency and safety of offshore drilling.
