Abstract

According to the classification of geothermal resource reservoir types,the geothermal resources in Fengxianjing area of Fenghuang county,Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture,fall into strip-shaped thermal reservoir.This thermal reservoir is composed of a fault zone that is mainly convective heat transfer,extends in a strip shape on the plane,and has effective voids and permeability.It is also located in a bedrock area with extremely weak water richness,which increases the difficulty of geothermal exploration.Therefore,it is crucial to identify the thermal and water conducting channels in this area.To investigate the occurrence of geothermal resources in the work area,the regional geological structure was firstly investigated and studied with controlled source audio magnetotelluric sounding(CSAMT)conducted in the northeast of the work area for verification;Secondly,measures were taken to optimize the transmitter system and adjust the dipole position in response to the inferred hidden faults and strong electromagnetic environment background within the work area,and to carry out CSAMT measurement work within the work area;Finally,based on the comprehensive geophysical inversion data and the research results of thermal and water conducting channels,the spatial distribution pattern of hidden faults was inferred,and a geothermal well location was determined.Through the use of unbalanced drilling technology for drilling verification,a thermal conductivity and water conductivity fault was successfully encountered with a depth of 1820 meters,a water output of 463 m3/d and a temperature of 49 ℃.The research results of this study can provide valuable reference for the exploration of geothermal water resources in areas with poor water rich bedrock.
