摘要

Abstract

Pectin is an acidic heteropolysaccharide widely found in plant cell walls,with a basic backbone consisting of α-1,4-D-GalpA,containing at least 17 monosaccharides and 20 types of glyco-sidic bond linkage.The molecular structure of pectin includes structural domain units such as homo-galacturonan,rhamnogalacturonanⅠand Ⅱ,and xylogalacturonan,which are linked by covalent bonds to form the pectin macromolecule.In recent years,with the deepening of the understanding of the structure and physicochemical properties of pectin,more and more studies have reported the ef-fects of pectin on the production performance and intestinal microbial metabolism of livestock and poultry.In addition,due to its stable chemical structure,researchers have recognized its great poten-tial as a delivery vehicle for highly active and unstable feed additives in livestock and poultry diets.This review summarizes the relationship between the primary molecular structural domains of pectin and its physicochemical properties,and the effects of pectin on gut microbiota metabolism and host immune function.It also provides an overview of the research progress of pectin as a load bioactive substance and its application potential in livestock and poultry production,aiming to provide new in-sights for improving the biological function of pectin in efficient livestock and poultry production.
