摘要

Abstract

The genus Daldinia,commonly known as"cramp balls"or"carbon balls",is of great importance as a type of wood-decaying fungus.Possessing distinctive capabilities,it is able to generate a diverse array of structurally novel secondary metabolites.These metabolites exhibit remarkable biological activities,which thus makes the Daldinia fungi as a pivotal resource for the exploration and development of bioactive pharmaceuticals.After a systematic summarization of related information from pertinent literature,this paper gives the first comprehensive overview of secondary metabolites produced by Daldinia fungi on the basis of scientific reports published from 1995 to 2023,together with their associated biological activities.Within this review,we generalize the contents for a number of 330 compounds that are divided into various categories including alkaloids,polyketides,terpenoids,volatile components and others.Moreover,we also provide available information on the wide-ranging biological activities of these compounds,including cytotoxicity,anti-inflammatory,antiviral,antioxidant,and antimicrobial properties with a purpose to bring a valuable reference for the further development and application of bioactive constituents present within this fungal genus.
