Analysis of Genotype-Environment Interaction Effects of Growth Traits in Cunninghamia lanceolata var.luotian Clones

Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the genotype-environment in Cunninghamia lanceolata var.luotian clones,identify high-yield,stable elite genotypes,and provide for the selection and promotion of improved varieties in forestry engineering construction and industrial development.[Method]The tree height and diameter at breast height(DBH),and volume index of 6-year-old clones were measured and calculated at three experimental sites:Zhongxiang,Xianning,and Yangxin.The spatial variation of phenotype values was corrected,and genetic variation characteristics of growth traits were analyzed.The interaction effects between genotype and environment were also analyzed.Based on estimated breeding values,elite clones were selected.[Result]Significant variation was observed in the DBH,tree height,and volume index of the clones,with the coefficient of variation following the pattern:volume index>DBH>tree height.Multi-site joint analysis showed that the effects of clone,site,and the genotype-environment interaction on the three growth traits were highly significant.Repeatability values ranged from 0.60 to 0.79,indicating a relat-ively high level of consistency.The genetic correlation coefficient(B-type)between the three experimental sites ranged from 0.41 to 0.65.The growth differences of the tested clones were most pronounced between Zhongxiang and Yangxin,and between Zhongxiang and Xianning.Using the clone breeding value for the volume index,the clones were ranked.Clones No.5 and No.22 performed well across all three sites and were selected as stable,high-yield elite clones.These clones exhibited a genetic gain of 28.31%,representing a 25.00%increase over the control group.[Conclusion]There is significant phenotypic vari-ation in the growth traits of C.lanceolata var.luotian,and the effects of clone,site,and their interaction strongly influence the growth of the clones.Clones No.22 and No.5 are identified as high-yielding,stable elite genotypes suitable for promotion in the short-cycle,small-diameter timber cultivation mode in the southeastern region of Hubei Province.关键词
