Efficacy comparison of shock wave balloon angioplasty versus PT A combined with stenting for short-segment superficial femoral artery occlusion

Abstract
Aim To compare the efficacy of Shockwave shock wave balloon and percutaneous angioplasty(PTA)combined with stent implantation in the treatment of short segment occlusion of superficial femoral artery.Methods Select 100 patients with short-segment occlusion of the superficial femoral artery,and randomly divide them equally into a Shockwave group and a PTA+stent group.The ankle brachial index(ABI),claudication distance,primary patency rate,and incidence of postoperative complications between two groups at different time points were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups of surgeries(P＞0.05).Six months after surgery,the ABI and primary patency rate of the Shockwave group were higher than those of the PTA+stent group(P＜0.05);At 3 and 6 months postoperatively,the distance of limping in the Shock-wave group was greater than that in the PTA+stent group(P＜0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the Shock-wave group was significantly lower than that in the PTA+stent group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Shockwave balloon therapy for short segment occlusion of superficial femoral artery has a higher postoperative patency rate and fewer complications compared with PTA com-bined with stent implantation,making it as a safe and effective treatment option.关键词
