Abstract

Dynamic shear modulus ratios and damping ratios for 480 groups of five common soil types from the deep soil layer in Lianyungang,as well as shear wave velocity data from 151 deep boreholes,were collected and organized.The research analyzed the uncertainty of dynamic shear modulus ratios and damping ratios,and the relationship between shear wave velocity and burial depth.Results indicated that most dynamic soil parameters had significance test P-values less than 0.05,suggesting a predominantly skewed distribution.The study examined the distribution characteristics of dynamic shear modulus ratios and damping ratios with shear strain for the five soil types and provided recommended values for different burial depth ranges.Additionally,three different fitting models were used to analyze the relationship between soil types and burial depth,revealing significant effects of site category and soil properties on the statistical formulas for shear wave velocity variations with depth.Overall,the quadratic function model showed the highest goodness of fit,resulting in a statistical empirical formula for shear wave velocity considering site category and soil properties,which can serve as a reference for other engineering projects in the region.
