略论"大色乏彩"
A Brief Discussion on"Great Color Lacks Hue"
摘要
Abstract
The concept of"Great Color Lacks Hue"is proposed in this article as a complement to the concept of"Great Sound is Rarely Heard,Great Form is Without Shape.""Lacks hue"refers to being colourless or white,while colours include purple,blue,cyan,green,yellow,orange,and red.Having colour implies differentiation;with differentiation,purple ceases to be red.Differentiation prevents inclusivity,so coloured things cannot be considered"great colour."In contrast,colourless and transparent can transmit all forms of light,and white media can reflect all kinds of light.Since various colours can be seen through colourless and white,they can unify and be called"great."The"Guo-bai"(blank-perceiving)method in traditional Chinese architectural space is one practical embodiment of the aforementioned concept.As a guiding philosophy for visual arts,architecture,and garden design,"Great Color Lacks Hue"has philosophical importance and significance.关键词
