复元醒脑汤的急性毒性研究
Acute Toxicity Study of Fuyuan Xingnao Decoction(复元醒脑汤)

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the acute toxicity of Fuyuan Xingnao Decoction(复元醒脑汤,FYXND)in mice and to explore po-tential target organs of toxicity,thus providing a theoretical basis for the safety of its clinical application.Methods According to the Tech-nical Guidelines for Acute Toxicity Studies of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Natural Medicinals,an acute toxicity study of FYXND was conducted.The experiment was divided into the preliminary and formal stages,using SPF-grade KM strain mice gavaged with FYXND to observe the physiological status,weight changes,hematological and biochemical parameters,and pathological alterations in the major organs of mice.Results In the preliminary experiment,FYXND caused no mortality in mice,precluding determination of the median le-thal dose(LD50).In the formal experiment,the maximum tolerated dose(MTD)of FYXND was 4.9g/kg.At the maximum dose,mice exhibited normal weight gain,no significant differences in hematological and biochemical indices,while pathological observations re-vealed mild toxicity in the heart,liver,and brain tissues,without impairing growth,development and major physiological functions of mice.Conclusion FYXND demonstrates low acute toxicity in mice,and the heart,liver,and brain may be the potential target organs.FYXND is safe within clinically recommended dosage ranges.关键词
