Abstract

The accuracy and repeatability of the three gas chromatography-selective detection methods for the simultaneous determination of thiophene and carbon disulfide in benzene were investigated,including gas chromatography-sulfur chemiluminescence detection(GC-SCD),gas chromatography-flame photometric detection(GC-FPD)and gas chromatography-pulse flame photometric detection(GC-PFPD).The effects of column type,polarity,and membrane thickness on the measurement results were studied.The quantitative method was determined by the response of thiophene and carbon disulfide content to the peak area.The experimental results show that the column is preferably a highly polar DB-WAX column with a thicker liquid film of 1.00 μm.The linear response calculation model of GC-SCD and the nonlinear response correction calculation models of GC-FPD and GC-PFPD were employed.The recovery of carbon disulfide(0.08-4.56 mg/kg)and thiophene(0.07-4.04 mg/kg)samples on the GC-SCD detector ranges from 95.7%-112.5%and 95.0%-101.5%,respectively,with the relative standard deviation of the 5 replicates within 7.4%.The minimum detection limit of thiophene in GC-SCD,GC-FPD,and GC-PFPD is 0.01,0.03,0.05 mg/kg,respectively.The detection limit of carbon disulfide in GC-SCD is 0.01 mg/kg.
