Abstract

In order to guarantee the food security of farmers,stabilize economic development and screen high quality maize varieties suitable for production,the correlation analysis,cluster analysis and principal component analysis of 11 agronomic characters of 30 maize varieties were carried out,and the membership function was used for comprehensive evaluation.The results indicated rich genetic diversity and signifi-cant differences among the tested varieties by the coefficient of variation of the agronomic traits ranged from 5.51%to 91.05%.The correla-tion analysis showed that there were significant correlations between different agronomic traits to varying degrees,with the highest correlation coefficient between the number of rows per ear and the number of grains per ear(0.81),and the lowest correlation coefficient between the number of rows per ear and the length of the bald tip(-0.71).Clustering analysis divided the 30 maize varieties into four groups.Group Ⅰ had small ears,few grains per ear,and low yield;Group Ⅱ had lower ear position and more grains per ear,but lower yield;Group Ⅲ had shorter bald tip length,larger grain weight and thousand-grain weight,and high yield;Group Ⅳ had thicker ear shafts and longer bald tip lengths,fewer grains per ear,but higher yield.Through principal component analysis and comprehensive evaluation,the high-yielding superior variety Minqi 217 was selected.
