Abstract

To enhance the supervision and pollution prevention of active oil storage sites,this paper presents a preliminary investigation of soil and groundwater pollution at an oil storage area in a pipeline station located in Northeast China.The sampling points were determined using professional judgment,with a total of 8 soil sampling points and 2 groundwater sampling points.Given the potential changes in land use type and the evident petroleum hydrocarbon contamination on-site,it is recommended to conduct a detailed investigation and risk assessment in the future.The focus should be on establishing monitoring points in high-risk areas and installing automatic monitoring equipment to detect characteristic hydrocarbons.Furthermore,the development of more precise detection technologies and new equipment is crucial for accurate pollutant identification,quantitative analysis,and spatial distribution mapping.At the same time,effective maintenance and management practices should be implemented,and the application of new technologies should be actively promoted.A thorough investigation of soil and groundwater pollution and a comprehensive risk assessment should be completed to accurately determine the extent of pollution and clarify the risks associated with soil and groundwater.This will lay the groundwork for the next phase of risk management and remediation efforts.
