Association Between Problematic Use or Addiction of Internet,Mobile Phone,or Game and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury:A Meta-Analysis
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To explore the association between problematic use or addiction of internet/mobile phone/game and non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)through a meta-analysis.Methods:A systematic search was conducted across six data-bases for relative articles published up to June 23,2024.After screening and quality assessment of the included studies, pooled odds ratios(ORs)were calculated to assess the association between problematic use or addiction of internet/mobile phone/game and NSSI.Additionally, sensitivity and subgroup analyses were conducted.Results:Twenty-four articles were included, involving 266,816 subjects.Overall, individuals with problematic use or addiction of internet/mobile phone/game had a significantly higher risk of NSSI(OR=2.47,95%confidence interval=2.22~2.76).After adjusting for confounding fac-tors such as demographic characteristics, mental health status, and family economic status, the pooled adjusted OR(OR=1.71,95%confidence interval=1.58~1.84)validated these results.Subgroup analyses revealed that both problematic use or addiction of internet or mobile phone were associated with an increased risk of NSSI.Both university students and primary/middle/high school students with problematic use or addiction of internet/mobile phone/game had an increased risk of NSSI.Findings in Chinese populations were consistent with those observed globally. Conclusion:Problematic use or addiction of internet/mobile phone/game is significantly associated with NSSI.关键词
