Abstract
Objective:This study aims to conduct a psycholinguistic analysis of suicide notes authored by students rang-ing from the fifth grade of primary school to the fourth grade of college.It adopts the perspective of the interpersonal theory of suicide to investigate interpersonal risk factors of adolescents'suicidal behaviors and investigates potential differences between grades.Methods:A psycholinguistic analysis of 40 adolescents'suicide notes in a certain province was con-ducted employing the simplified Chinese linguistic inquiry and word count(SC-LIWC)to extract the personal pronouns,emotion-based vocabulary,and time-perception-based vocabulary within them.Results:One or two interpersonal risk fac-tors as per the interpersonal theory of suicide were identified in 70%of the suicide notes.SC-LIWC results confirmed the stable presence of the two factors,frustrated sense of belonging and perceived sense of exhaustion.And there were no sig-nificant school segment differences in the suicide letter characteristics on any of the remaining word classes,except for the past tense calibrators.Conclusion:The psycholinguistic analysis of adolescents'suicide notes indicates a prevalence of in-terpersonal risk factors and underscores the need to enhance crisis warning and intervention for adolescents at interpersonal risk.关键词
