Family Socioeconomic Status and Father Involvement:The Chain Mediating Role of Parenting Stress and Parenting Sense of Competence

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of family socioeconomic status,parenting stress,and parenting sense of competence on father involvement.Methods:A sample of 980 fathers of preschool children was recruited in the study to complete the family socioeconomic status assessment,parenting stress index-short form(PSI-SF),parenting sense of com-petence scale(PSOC),and the inventory of father involvement(IFI).Results:Parenting stress and parenting sense of com-petence not only played separate mediating effects,but also played chain mediating effects on the relationship between fam-ily socioeconomic status and father involvement.Conclusion:Parenting stress and parenting sense of competence had sepa-rate mediating effects and chain mediating effects on the relationship between family socioeconomic status and father in-volvement.关键词
