Abstract
Objective The purpose of this research was to investigate the application effects of two filling materials in children with dental caries and their influence on the prognosis.Methods From December 2021 to May 2022,86 children with dental caries were admitted to the hospital.The children were randomly divided into a control group(n=43)and an observation group(n=43)by random number table method.The two groups were treated with glass ionomer and composite resin,respectively.The overall repair effect,filling material loss rate,tooth aesthetic degree and function,periodontal health index,and chewing function were compared between the groups.Follow-up was conducted to evaluate the prognosis.Results The total success rates of treatment in the observation group and the control group were 93.02%and 76.74%,with a statistically significant difference between the groups(χ2=4.441,P＜0.05).The total loss rate of filling material in the observation group(18.60%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(39.53%)(P＜0.05).The scores of tooth aesthetic degree,comfort,language and masticatory function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Three months after treatment,probing depth,sulcus bleeding index,plaque index and tooth mobility scores in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,but there was no statistically significant difference between the groups(P＞0.05).Three months after treatment,the EMG value and masticatory efficiency of masseter muscle and muscles of mastication of anterior bundle of temporal muscle in both groups were higher than those before treatment,and the observation group was higher than the control group(P＜0.05).The incidence rates of prosthesis loss,pulpitis and secondary caries in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with glass ionomer,composite resin can achieve a higher success rate of filling and a lower filling material loss rate in children with dental caries,which is helpful to reduce periodontal health index,improve chewing function,reduce complications and improve the prognosis.关键词
