Assessment of Myoton PRO on Floating Needling Combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula on Performance of Upper Trapezius Muscle in Patients with Cervical Radiculopathy of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis Pattern

Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of floating needling combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula on performance of upper trapezius muscle in patients with cervical radiculopathy of Qi stagnation and blood stasis pattern.Methods:50 patients were divided into the study group and the control group,with 25 patients in each group.The control group received conventional treatment,including anti-inflammatory medication,nerotrophic support,and muscle tension relief;whereas the study group was treated with floating needle combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula.The treatment duration was three courses of three weeks.Cervical pain and neck function scores,muscle tension,muscle hardness and muscle elasticity of the upper trapezius muscle were recorded before and after the treatment.The data of the two groups were statistically analyzed to compare the differences of the above indicators between the two groups.Results:There were no statistical differences in the basic data between the two groups(P＞0.05).Both groups of treatment can improve the symptoms of patients with CSR,but the therapeutic effect of the study group was more significant.There were no statistical differences in the scores of VAS and NPQ between the two groups before the treatment(P＞0.05);significant differences were shown in the scores of VAS and NPQ between the two groups after the treatment(P＜0.05).There were no statistical differences in the muscle tension,muscle hardness and muscle elasticity of the upper trapezius muscle between the two groups before the treatment(P＞0.05),which were significantly different in the two groups after the treatment(P＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Floating needling combined with Tongluo Huoxue Formula can reduce the muscle tension and hardness of the upper trapezius muscle and increase the muscle elasticity in CSR patients.The cervical function and clinical symptoms of CSR patients were improved,and the efficacy was better than that of conventional Western medication.关键词
