Assessment of river and lake health in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and management strategy study
摘要
Abstract
Assessment of river and lake health in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has great significance to understand water environment conditions, provide lake and river management guidelines and make environment protection policies.Based on review of assessment and studies, introductions are made on current water resources and environment conditions in the region.Discussions are made on assessment of river and lake health and management strategy.Ten typical rivers and lakes in the Greater Bay Area were selected for health evaluation and analysis. The results indicate that rivers and lakes of Class Ⅱ(in a healthy state)account for 80%and those of Class Ⅲ(in a sub-healthy state)account for 20%.The existing index system of river and lake health evaluation has shortcomings in terms of index system, assessment contents, technical tools and regional collaboration.Suggestions for improving river and lake health evaluation index system, data collection and analysis and continuous research and evaluation are made.It also suggests to formulate a unified regional management policy framework, conduct joint actions for governance of transboundary water bodies, implement integrated management and ecological restoration plans, strengthen scientific and technological support and capacity building,so as to provide support for decision-making of water environment governance in the Greater Bay Area, continuous improvement and sustainable development of river lake ecological environment in the region.关键词
