Abstract
Objective To explore the aesthetic effect of eyelash valgus suture combined with orbicularis oculi muscle resection and its influences on recurrence rate in children with inferior eyelids trichiasis.Methods A total of 60 children with inferior eyelids trichiasis admitted to the hospital were enrolled between March 2020 and March 2023.According to random number table method,they were divided into observation group(eyelash valgus suture+orbicularis oculi muscle resection)and control group(orbicularis oculi muscle resection),30 cases in each group.The correction effect,tear film breakup time(TBUT),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),aesthetic effect and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups.Results The total response rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P＞0.05).Before surgery,there was no significant difference in TBUT or BCVA between the two groups(P＞0.05).At 1 month after surgery,TBUT in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group(P＜0.05),but there was no significant difference in BCVA between the two groups(P＞0.05).At 3 months after surgery,TBUT and BCVA in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P＜0.05).After surgery,scores of skin scar,eyelash aesthetics and symmetry of inferior eyelid edge in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications or recurrence rate between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Eyelash valgus suture combined with orbicularis oculi muscle resection has good correction effect in children with inferior eyelids trichiasis,which can significantly improve ocular aesthetics and reduce the incidence of complications.关键词
