Abstract
Township enterprises have played a significant role in China's agricultural reform and development.Past reform and innovation of township enterprises were primarily reflected in institutional restructuring,operational improvements,entrepreneurship cultivation,reform foundation building and rural talents fostering.These contributions continue to positively influence today's county-level economic development.This paper uses township enterprises'data information in 1991 to analyze the impact of their reform and innovation on the development of 1 321 counties in 2020.The results show that the reform and innovation of township enterprises have improved the current county development.This conclusion holds even after using historical data as an instrumental variable and conducting multiple robustness tests.Mechanism analysis demonstrates that township enterprises drive county-level development through innovation and entrepreneurship,with government deregulation facilitating their reform and innovation,and the development of enterprises in plain regions exerts a more pronounced impact on county-level development.Therefore,we should continue to solve the problems in development through reform and innovation,specifically by innovating institutional mechanisms and vigorously cultivating entrepreneurial spirit,thereby enhancing the overall innovation efficacy of county.关键词
